Research is focused on the synthesis of nanoparticles of metals and their compounds using bacteria and subsequent utilization of these nanoparticles for preparation of various functional nanomaterials and nanocomposites. This research consists of following particular goals:

  • The search for optimum bacterial strain for a given type of metal and metal compound.
  • Optimization of nanoparticles biosynthesis conditions with respect to the potential utilization in functional nanocomposites
  • Development of methods for nanoparticles extraction and their characterization as to the morphology, particle size and structure.
  • Anchoring of these nanoparticles on suitable inorganic matrices.

Laboratory equipment:

Equipment for bacteria cultivation with thermostat, sterilizers, laboratory shakers,
Analytical and diagnostics technics are available in other departments of Nanotechnology Centre.
